ThinkPad R Series

Thursday, March 27th, 2008

thinkpad.gifI walked into a fast food restaurant just a few days ago for a quick bite. As I walked through the doors and looked to the left, I noticed a man with a laptop. I was pretty impressed with the fact that it looked extremely portable.

Upon closer examination, I realized that it was a ThinkPad! A R Series to be exact. It sported a 14.1 inch widescreen. I was so impressed with it that I did a little research. It turns out that the R Series is available also with the standard 15.4″ display. A nice size as well, I was left more impressed by the smaller model, which consequently costs a little bit more.

The 14.1″ model is extremely durable and powerful. I was surprised as well the learn that it is available with up to a 2.60GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor. It is a very affordable notebook as well landing in around the $600 price range. I’m not familiar with any other notebooks that have these unique features at such a reasonable price. It’s a tiny, yet awesome notebook!

ThinkPad X Series Tablet

Thursday, October 25th, 2007

The ThinkPad X Series Tablet is definitely among the more unique laptops. It’s highly popular for it’s flexibility. It’s the #2 ultra-portable laptop according to PC Worlds Top Ten Ultra-Portable Laptops and rightfully so. The screen rotates 180 degrees and can be flipped down to create a super compact working area.

This amount of flexibility makes it easy to use on an airplane or in a class room. It can be rested on your lap and easily used to take notes using its touchscreen and the digitizer pen. A lot of people like it’s ability to easily correct mistakes by erasing them using the opposite end of digitizer pen. It functions just like the eraser of a real pencil.

The Lenovo ThinkPad X-Series

Tuesday, October 23rd, 2007

The Lenovo ThinkPad X-Series is a very unique notebook. It has quite a few advantages. My favorite is it’s super light weight and compact size. I wish these we’re available a few years ago. I remember buying a huge 17″ widescreen laptop that weighed about 8 pounds. It was a great laptop, but carrying the thing to class as a college student was killer!

It was also a hard computer to use in class. It’s large size made it hard to use on small desks or in crowded settings. It was tough to transport. I went to a university built on a slope and lived at the very bottom. Walking more than a mile with the thing wore me out and sometimes even made my back hurt.

The ThinkPad X-Series pretty much eliminates every single problem I suffered through during those years. It’s virtually effortless to carry and easy to use in cramped settings such as an airplane. I’m not sure how Lenovo made the X-Series so light, but it’s great. Perfect for people who are always on the run.
